What is RSS?
RSS literally means Really Simple Syndication. Its a more efficient way to "bookmark" your favorite websites or allows users to access updates to online content. We can use an RSS reader to keep track of fellow students' blogs. The aggregator of the RSS is similar to a web browser that keeps track of the RSS content. Although a useful tool, RSS isn't widely used to do a number of reasons: content can be easily copied because of misuse of copyrighted content, tracking subscribers is difficult because of the goal of RSS is all about achieving the widest syndication.
